Write three moments before you compare features.
Start with a client accepting an invitation, completing a session and asking for an adjustment. Then describe what you need to see the following morning. Those moments give a software trial a purpose.
Choose one fictional client and one short training week. Use the same example in every product you evaluate. A feature that looks impressive in a demonstration may add work when you have ten clients waiting for a reply.
Use trends as context for your brief.
ACSM’s 2026 survey ranks wearable technology first, programs for older adults second, mobile exercise apps fourth and data-driven technology eighth. These are industry trends, not software ratings. Use them as prompts for your own requirements, rather than evidence that a particular app delivers better outcomes.
Ask how your clients will actually use the system. Can someone read a session comfortably on a phone? Can you explain a change without sending them between several apps? If you need a specific device connection, ask to see that exact integration working before you count on it.

Make the trial cover a whole relationship, including the quiet administrative steps. Invite, assign, review, respond and close the loop. Test both your view and the client’s view.
- Send a test client invitation and complete the actual sign-in journey.
- Assign a saved training version; check that later edits preserve the client’s history.
- Log a workout, send a check-in and ask a question from the client view.
- Find the same records again after a refresh and on a smaller screen.
- Review payment costs, cancellation rules and what an export includes.
Make the boundaries part of the decision.
Ask who owns the workspace, who can see a client’s records and what happens when you archive a relationship or stop paying. Read the actual payment disclosures. A subscription price and a transaction fee are different costs.
CoachAgain brings training, check-ins, private progress, messages and scheduling into one workspace. Eligible plans support coach invitations with role-based client access. Google Calendar supports booking and free/busy availability checks. Google Contacts is pending review. You can use saved video links for your sessions. Confirm the available calendar and device connections during the trial.
Choose the system whose current capabilities fit your process. Keep a short list of genuine gaps and give each one a consequence: inconvenience, manual work or a requirement you cannot compromise on.
